Cyber Security Emerging Threats: The Rise of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing Threats

Abstract

This regional seminar is organised as part of the CRANE (Cyber Security Research and Networking Environment) Network, a new UKRI EPSRC-funded national initiative focused on strengthening the UK cyber security research ecosystem through interdisciplinary collaboration across academia, industry, government, and policy communities.

Venue: STEAM House, Birmingham City University, Belmont Row, Birmingham, B4 7RQ

The seminar will explore emerging challenges and opportunities associated with:

  • Post-Quantum Computing Threats
  • Adversarial AI and AI for Cyber Security
  • Operational Technology (OT), ICS and IIoT Security
  • Socio-Technical Security and Misinformation
  • Future Research Collaboration and Funding Opportunities

The event will include thematic talks, networking sessions, collaborative discussions, and research showcase activities aimed at fostering new partnerships and advancing cyber resilience research and innovation within the West Midlands and beyond.

Participants from academia, industry, government, policy organisations, and the wider cyber security community are warmly encouraged to attend.
