Short bio
David Oswald is Full Professor in Cyber Security at Durham University, UK. His main field of research is the security of embedded systems and trusted execution. His work includes the practical realisation of security systems, and, more recently, analysis of trusted execution technologies like Intel SGX AMD SEV-SNP, as well as applications of CHERI in this context as part of the Digital Security by Design initiative. He has numerous papers in top-tier venues such as TCHES, IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, and Usenix Security, is in the PCs of major conferences, including Usenix Security 2025-26, TCHES 2025-26, and ACM CCS 2022-25, and was general chair for CARDIS 2022 and CHERITech 2024.
